China started Monday to review anti-dumping measures it imposed in 2005 on chloroprene rubber imported from Japan, the United States and the European Union, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said.
MOC will examine the possibility of recurrence or continuity of dumping actions and damages if the anti-dumping measures come to an end, it said in a report posted on its web site.
In May 2005 the MOC imposed anti-dumping duties ranging from 2 percent to 151 percent on imported chloroprene rubber from Japan, the United States and the European Union with a term of 5 years.
China's domestic chloroprene rubber producers had filed an application for a reexamination of anti-dumping measures against Japanese, US and EU rubber exporters on March 5, the report said.
Chloroprene rubber, commonly known as Neoprene, is mainly used in the manufacture of electrical cables and other types of cables, as well as water-proof products.
The review is scheduled to be completed in 12 months.
