China extends paper antidumping duties

China extended anti-dumping tariffs on coated art paper from Japan and South Korea for five years, the government said.
China's paper industry may be hurt by dumping if the taxes, imposed six years ago, are scrapped, the Ministry of Commerce said in a statement on its website yesterday.
The statement didn't specify the level of the duties, which are effective from tomorrow. The tariffs previously ranged from 4 percent to 71 percent, according to a ministry statement on Aug. 6, 2003.
