NEW DELHI: Import of carbon black, used in tyre manufacturing, has been simplified as the government has removed restrictions on wheeling in the product. The import of the product falls under free policy, a notification by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade said.
As per the industry players, the move would ease procedures for import of the item, although the anti-dumping duty on carbon black would remain. On carbon black, the government has imposed anti-dumping duty ranging between USD 0.078 and USD 0.195 per kg.
