November 5 MetalBiz--Argentina's Industry and Tourism Ministry announced on November 3 that they would carry out an anti-dumping investigation on the steel pipe imported from China.

According to the orders signed by Edward Bianchi, secretary of Argentina industrial state, Argentina launched anti-dumping investigation on China's steel pipe on November 4 and the relevant Argentine's enterprises could submit evidence within 10 days.

The survey involved the seamless steel pipe and welding steel pipe imported from China, which can be used for oil and gas exploration, with an external diameter less than 10.75 inches. Alloy steel pipe, carbon steel pipe, spiral steel, straight-seam steel pipe as well as CR and HR pipes are also in the list of the anti-dumping investigation.

Since last year, Argentina took a series of measures to restrict products from China, which imposed unfavorable impact on bilateral trade. Report from Argentina's National Bureau of Statistics showed that the bilateral trade volume between China and Argentina fell 37.7% over the same period last year.

The 17th Economic and Trade Committee Meeting of China and Argentina was held in Buenos Aires on October 14. Chenjian, vice minister of China's Ministry of Commerce stated in the meeting that the economies of both sides were highly complementary, hoping Argentina's government took measures to solve the disharmony phenomena in bilateral trade and promote the stable development.
