It is reported that a sunset review investigation of the antidumping duty on color coated products originating in or imported from Australia has been initiated.
The application has been lodged by ArcelorMittal South Africa, the major manufacturer of the products in the Southern African Customs Union region, which alleges that the expiry of the antidumping duty would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping and material injury.
The application was initiated as a result of these products being imported and used in the building of the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Color coated products are flat rolled products of iron or non alloy steel of a width of 600 mm or more, painted, varnished or coated with plastics.
