In the first two months of the year, the export value of agricultural and forestry products reached nearly 9 billion USD, with many key sectors continuing to expand their markets.
Amidst the volatile global trade environment, Viet Nam's agricultural and forestry exports have maintained positive growth momentum since the beginning of 2026. Many key products such as coffee and fruits and vegetables continue to expand their markets, creating new expectations for agricultural exports this year.
In the first few months of 2026, Viet Nam's agricultural and forestry exports continued to show positive signs, with export value reaching nearly 9 billion USD in the first two months. Within this overall picture, coffee continued to be a bright spot, with export value reaching approximately 2.2 billion USD, affirming its role as one of Viet Nam's key agricultural export sectors.
Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai, Chairman of the Viet Nam Coffee and Cocoa Association, stated: "Our total exports in 2025 will reach nearly 1.6 million tons, with a value of 9 billion USD. This is the year we will have the highest production and export value ever. For coffee, the high prices over the past three years have created favorable conditions for farmers to invest in production and the quality of their plantations."
Not only coffee, but many other agricultural product groups are also maintaining positive growth momentum. In the first two months of the year, agricultural exports reached over 6 billion USD, while forestry products reached approximately 2.8 billion USD. In particular, fruits and vegetables continue to expand their export markets, creating a foundation for many businesses to set growth targets for 2026.
According to the authorities, Viet Nam's agriculture still has enormous growth potential. The application of science and technology, the development of logistics, and the promotion of digital transformation throughout the entire production-processing-consumption chain are creating further impetus for agricultural exports in the coming period.
Mr. Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment, stated: "Agricultural exports have continuously increased over the past several years. In particular, exports reached US$62.5 billion in 2024 and US$70.9 billion in 2025, an increase of approximately US$7.5 billion. We have a foundation for restructuring built over 40 years, from production areas, planting area codes, packaging to deep processing… within a sustainable ecosystem between businesses and farmers."
Currently, Vietnamese agricultural products are present in approximately 200 countries and territories. Building on the growth of previous years, along with positive signals from the beginning of the year, the agricultural sector is aiming for an export turnover of 73-74 billion USD in 2026, thereby creating momentum to move closer to the 100 billion USD mark in the coming years.
