Total seafood export revenue reaching $1.7 billion.

Viet Nam’s seafood exports were estimated at $1.7 billion in the first two months of 2026, up 20.2% year-on-year, according to the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

In February alone, export revenue was estimated at $707 million, an increase of 8% compared to the same period last year.
In terms of product structure, shrimp remained Viet Nam’s leading seafood export in January–February, generating $689.5 million, up nearly 20% year-on-year.

Amid significant changes in tariff policies and technical barriers in the United States in 2026, along with logistics disruptions caused by conflicts in the Middle East, China is expected to continue serving as a key growth driver for Viet Nam’s seafood industry.

The US remains an important market but is no longer expected to drive growth this year. In February 2026, seafood exports to the US reached only about $80.8 million, a sharp decline of 25.7% year-on-year. In the first two months, exports to the market totalled $209.3 million, down 3%.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) market also recorded notable growth in the first two months of 2026, reaching $118.6 million, up 21.5%, although exports in February alone fell by 8%.

Meanwhile, the European Union (EU) maintained relatively stable growth, with exports rising 2.5% in February and 16.9% over the two-month period. Japan recorded a modest increase of 4.8% in the first two months, although exports in February alone declined by 18.3%, indicating that demand in the market remains somewhat unstable.
