Viet Nam has set a target of earning $25 billion from exports of wood and wood products by 2030.

In 2025, the wood industry generated $18.5 billion in export revenue, up 6.6% year on year, according to figures from Viet Nam Customs.

The year marked a significant milestone for the sector as, for the first time, wooden furniture exports exceeded $10 billion, accounting for nearly 60% of total industry revenue. This achievement not only reinforces Viet Nam’s position on the global wood export map but also reflects the sector’s strong and sustained development.

The United States remained Viet Nam’s largest export market, with shipments valued at $9.46 billion, representing 55% of total export revenue.

Another highlight was the Japanese market, which recorded growth of more than 23%, with export turnover reaching $2.153 billion. Japan overtook China to become Viet Nam’s second-largest market, while China ranked third with exports of over $2 billion.

Together, the US, Japan, and China accounted for nearly 80% of Viet Nam’s total wood and wood product export turnover in 2025.
