United States: receiving the application of the investigation request of anti-dumping measures on lawnmower products originating from some countries including Vietnam

On 27 May, 2020, Department of Trade remedies receives information about US. Department of Commerce (DOC)’s receipt of dossiers of the investigation request of applying anti-dumping measures for lawnmower products originating from China and Vietnam.
In this case, the Applicant alleges that lawnmower products with Code number 8433.11.00.50 are dumped in the US market, which causes significant damages to Domestic Industry. The period of investigation that the Applicant recommends is from 01/10/2019 to 31/3/2020.
Regarding the statistics of United States International Trade Commission (USITC), total export turnover of lawnmowers of Vietnam to the US market reaching 4,96 million USD in the period of investigation.
According to regulations of the USA, DOC shall consider whether initiating the investigation of the case or not within 20 days as from the date of application receipt.
In case of that DOC decides to initiate the investigation, Department of Trade remedies shall coordinate with exporting businesses in the process of case investigation and has plans to support and handle timely to protect rights and interests of Vietnamese businesses.
