The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) stated that it maintains a strong presence in Viet Nam to promote market opportunities for American producers in one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing economies.

According to the Viet Nam News Agency correspondent in Washington, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) will organize six agricultural trade promotion delegations to Viet Nam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Turkey, Australia, and Saudi Arabia in 2026 to boost US agricultural exports. Regarding Viet Nam, the USDA stated that it maintains a strong presence to promote market opportunities for US producers in one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing economies .

According to Luke J. Lindberg, USDA Undersecretary for Trade and International Agricultural Relations, promoting exports is crucial to the success of the agricultural economy, as well as the overall U.S. economy. Each year, the USDA's team of marketing and trade experts identifies new and growing global markets that offer top prospects for U.S. exporters.

According to Lindberg, this year the USDA is focusing its efforts on markets where President Donald Trump has created a level playing field for American farmers and ranchers globally.

The USDA announced that an agricultural trade promotion delegation is scheduled to visit Jakarta, Indonesia, from February 2-5. U.S. exporters are interested in exploring trade opportunities created by the U.S.-Indonesia Reciprocal Trade Agreement.

With the landmark 2025 trade agreement, the Indonesian market offers new and ongoing opportunities for U.S. farmers, ranchers, and food processors to expand sales, partly thanks to its large middle class, stable economic growth, and broad regional reach through customers from Malaysia and Timor-Leste. Indonesia is a leading market for U.S. dairy and halal beef, soybeans, wheat, animal feed ingredients, and consumer-oriented products.

Following Indonesia, the U.S. agricultural trade promotion delegation will travel to Manila, Philippines, from 13-16 to explore trade opportunities in the Philippines' rapidly developing and fast-growing economy. The delegation will connect U.S. producers with key buyers in the Philippines, thereby expanding economic opportunities, supporting rural prosperity, and maintaining the global competitiveness of U.S. agricultural products.

The Philippines is currently the ninth-largest export market for U.S. agricultural and food products, averaging $3.6 billion annually over the past five years. As one of the world's 20 most populous countries with 118 million people, the Philippines offers enormous export potential for U.S. agricultural businesses thanks to its young and rapidly growing population, strong consumer demand for U.S. food and beverages, and robust service economy.

According to the USDA, following the Philippines, additional delegations will be held in Türkiye (May 2026), Australia (August 2026), Saudi Arabia (September 2026), and Viet Nam (November 2026) as part of the overall export promotion strategy for 2026.
