Saudi Arabia appeals panel report regarding intellectual property measures
03/08/2020 12:00
Saudi Arabia notified the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) on 28 July of its decision to appeal the panel report in the case brought by Qatar in “Saudi Arabia — Measures concerning the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights” (DS567). As a consequence, the report of the panel, which was circulated to WTO members on 16 June 2020, cannot be considered for adoption by the DSB until the completion of the appeal.
Given the ongoing lack of agreement among WTO members regarding the filling of Appellate Body vacancies, there is no Appellate Body Division available at the current time to deal with the appeal.
Further information on Saudi Arabia's notice of appeal is available in document WT/DS567/7.
