Leather shoes export to America: threefold increase

According to statistics figure from Trade Information Centre, sport shoes export turnover to America in the first 8 months increased by threefold, gaining total turnover of US$ 27,7 million.
Big consumers of Vietnam sport shoes in America include the US, Brazil and Panama. The US is currently the leading market who imported US$15.48 million worth sport shoes from Vietnam, an increase of 135,5% in terms of quantity and 138,7% in value.
Particularly, Vietnam’s shoes exports to Brazil has increased from 24 pairs worth 382 USD in the first 8 months of 2005 to a remarkable figure of 238,861 pair with 4.59 million USD turnover in the same period this year.
The recent EU’s decision on imposing anti-dumping tax on Vietnam leather shoes exports has forced Vietnam shoemakers switched to America, therefore, grasped enormous gaining from this market.
It is expected that shoes export turnover to America would keep soaring trend in coming time.
