Consultations
Complaint by Brazil
On 4 April 2016, Brazil requested consultations with Thailand regarding the alleged subsidies provided by Thailand to the sugar sector.
Brazil claims that the measures are inconsistent with:
- Articles 3.2, 3.3, 6.3, 8, 9.1 and 10.1 of the Agreement on Agriculture; and
- Articles 3.1(a), 3.2, 5(c) and 6.3 of the SCM Agreement.
On 15 April 2016, the European Union requested to join the consultations. On 18 April 2016, Guatemala requested to join the consultations.
