China places tariffs on nitrile rubber from South Korea, Japan

BEIJING—China has imposed antidumping tariffs on nitrile rubber originating in South Korea and Japan, the country's Ministry of Commerce said July 16.
The move follows Mofcom's antidumping investigation which found that nitrile rubber from the two countries had been dumped, causing "substantial damage" to the domestic rubber industry.
Under a preliminary ruling, the authority has implemented temporary antidumping measures as follows:
Korean companies:
• Kumho Petrochemical Co. Ltd, 12.0 percent;
• LG Chemical, 15.0 percent; and
• other Korean companies, 37.3 percent.
Japanese companies:
• Zeon Corp., 30.0 percent;
• JSR Corp., 18.1 percent; and
• Other Japanese companies, 56.4 percent.
