Brazil extends anti-dumping investigation on Vietnam tire

The anti-dumping investigation on Vietnamese tire exports to Brazil will be extended by six months from the previous plan, according to the country’s Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC).
The case, initiated on rubber bicycle tire imports from Vietnam, China, and India In September 2012, was earlier expected to conclude on September 3. Under the investigation extension, the final conclusion is due on March 3, 2014.
The Brazilian side said the dumping margin of the Vietnamese products on sale in its market is as high as 97.9 percent.
Earlier on June 10, MDIC also launched an anti-dumping investigation on the imports of tires for passenger vehicles (NCM 4011.20.90) from South Korea, Thailand, South Africa, Russia, Taiwan and Japan, according to Mondaq.
This case was taken upon request from the National Association of the Pneumatic Industry.
Also in June, Vietnam-made cold-rolled steel exported to Brazil was subject to an anti-dumping investigation along with China, Germany, the Republic of Korea, Finland, and Taiwan.
