Speaking with Mr. Taibi Hamid, Chairman of NTH Agro, Ambassador Tran Quoc Khanh said that the two countries are actively promoting economic and trade cooperation activities, while expanding opportunities for cooperation between the business communities of both sides.

The Ambassador emphasized that Viet Nam's approach to cooperation with international partners in general, and Algeria in particular, is based on the principles of mutual benefit, mutual respect, and tangible results. According to the Ambassador, an increasing number of Vietnamese businesses are interested in seeking opportunities for cooperation with Algerian partners in various fields, including agricultural and food processing.

The ambassador stated that the relevant authorities of both countries are studying the development of a preferential trade mechanism to facilitate easier access for Algerian goods to the Vietnamese market and vice versa.

On this occasion, Ambassador Tran Quoc Khanh also highly appreciated the dynamic business activities of Algerian enterprises, and stated that the prospects for cooperation between businesses of the two countries are very positive. The Ambassador suggested that increasing exchanges of business delegations and market research trips would help businesses of both countries better understand the needs and potential for cooperation, thereby promoting stronger economic and trade relations between Viet Nam and Algeria in the future.

According to trade data, coffee beans are currently Viet Nam's main export item to Algeria. Due to the Algerian government 's policy of restricting the import of finished products, imported coffee is mainly in the form of whole beans, which are then roasted, ground, and blended by domestic businesses to suit local consumer tastes. Robusta coffee accounts for over 85% of imports, and this is also the type of coffee that Viet Nam has a production and export advantage in. Currently, Algeria imports approximately 130,000 tons of coffee annually, mainly unprocessed coffee.

Experts say that Vietnamese coffee beans are highly valued by Algerian importers due to their consistent quality, rich flavor, and competitive price. In particular, Vietnamese Robusta coffee is considered well-suited to Algerian brewing habits, as it can create a thick foam and dissolve sugar better than many other types of coffee.

Amidst the growing trade relations between Viet Nam and Algeria, coffee beans are expected to continue to be one of Viet Nam's key export items to this North African country in the coming years.
