According to WTO statistics, India is the country that conducts the most Safeguard investigations in the world with 47 cases (accounting for 11.4% of the total number of Safeguard investigations initiated globally), of which 23 cases were subject to safeguard measures.

However, Canada has only initiated a total of 4 Safeguard investigations and only one investigation has been imposed Safeguard measure by Canada.

According to WTO data, the only subject of Canada's safeguard investigation is Base metals and articles. Other items have never been subject to a safeguard measure by Canada.
