U.S. imposed most import restrictions on S. Korean goods in Q3

SEOUL, Oct. 4 (Yonhap) -- The United States topped other countries in the number of import regulations applied to South Korean goods in the third quarter, a local trade association said Thursday.
In the July-September period, 25 countries imposed a total of 194 restrictions on South Korean goods, including anti-dumping, countervailing duties or safeguards, the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) said in a statement.
Twenty-five cases are under investigation and the remaining 169 are in effect, it said.
By country, the U.S. ranked first with 39 import regulations against South Korean steelmakers and other exporters, followed by India with 29 regulations and China with 16. Turkey took actions against 15 items, trailed by Canada with 13 and Brazil with 11, the findings showed.
