Trade promotion agreement between Vietnam and the Philippines

A trade promotion agreement between the government of Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Philippines was signed in the August 9, 2007, between Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry) and Trade and Export Promotion Department under Ministry of Industry of the Philippines, under the witness of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, on the occasion of his official visit to the Philippines.

Accordingly, on principle, the two countries would make the greatest efforts for development of trade promotion relation, contributing to economic and trade enhancement, cooperating on 4 fields: Information exchange, trade delegates exchange, participation in trade fairs of each other, and expert training and exchange. The two sides will maintain relationship and promote cooperation to evaluate the implementation of this agreement and propose appropriate measures of action. The agreement will take effect in three years and can be prolonged in the next period.

This agreement is one of the seven official documents signed during the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s official visits to 5 Southeast Asian nations
