China defends its products which were withdrawn

According to Ministry of Trade of China, that millions of China toys in the market were withdrawn in many countries in the world was the result of applying new industrial standards, not because of their bad quality.
A senior official of Ministry of Trade said that there withdrawing toys was the responsible action because they can affect children’s health and safety. He added that the withdrawal of more than 18 millions of toys with magnet inside resulted from applying new industrial standards in May.
Mentioning the toys containing lead, Ministry of Trade of China blamed the weaknesses in the manufacturing process in this country. He, however, confirmed that entrepreneurs also had responsibility because they had not controlled their products’ quality.
As known, last week Consumer Product Safety Committee (CPSC) withdrew more than 300,000 Chinese products because the paint of these products contained higher level of lead than allowed.
Also in last weeks, Arab Saudi got back 2,300 toys made in China because this country worried about the covering paint of these products which could have harmful maintaining lead. Seven different Chinese brands of toothpaste were found containing diethylene glycol in high amount, were banned at that time.
