Vietnam exports first batch of Doan Hung pomelos to Russia

The northern province of Phu Tho has exported the first batch of Doan Hung pomelos, which were grown with sustainable agricultural practices, to the Russian market.
The batch included 36,000 pomelos with a total weight of 40 tonnes.
The export was arranged by Kim Hang Luc Ngan Organic Agriculture Company, in partnership with the provincial agricultural department and the Doan Hung District authorities.
The event marks the opening of a new stage and a new market for local pomelo farmers.
Doan Hung District expects that more and more enterprises and traders will take part in the production process of pomelos, this will gradually form the value chain for pomelos and other products of the district.
Phu Tho Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Hai stated that in the future, the province will increase the applications of science and technology to enhance the quality of pomelos and establish a pomelo growing zone, with a total area of 3,000 hectares.
Currently Doan Hung has nearly 2,600 hectares of pomelo fields, with an estimated annual output of 24,000 tonnes
