A trade forum on cooperation between Vietnam and partners from Eurasia region was held in Hanoi on December 22 in both direct and online forms.

Held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), the event introduced updated policies in the Eurasia region to the Vietnamese business community.

Speaking at the forum, Director of the European - American Market Department at the MoIT Ta Hoang Linh emphasised that the Eurasian market has been a traditional market of Vietnam in the past and is presently considered a potential export market with a lot of room for growth.

Eurasia is a large market of 28 countries, stretching from Eastern Europe to Central Asia, covering a total area of about 23.5 million square kilometres, a population of more than 410 million people, and a total GDP of nearly 3.337 trillion USD, he added.

As the agency presiding over bilateral and multilateral trade cooperation activities, the MoIT will continue to accompany the business community to promote the trade and investment activities between Vietnam and the European-American market in general and the Eurasian market in particular, Linh noted.

At the Forum, speakers from the MoIT, the Institute for European Studies under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, and the Vietnam Trade Offices in Eurasia provided detailed information and answered questions relating to the import policies and investment attraction of host countries, updated changes in market needs and tastes, and provided with useful advice on taking advantage of opportunities from regional Free Trade Agreements such as the EVFTA and VN-EAEUFTA.

Within the forum, a wide range of activities were also held to connect trade and exchange information between businesses and the Vietnam Trade Offices abroad.
