Vietnam’s textile-garment export revenue is expected to reach 39 billion USD in 2021. This is equal to the planned target set out at the end of 2020 and greater than the highest growth scenario forecasted for 2021.
The information was released by Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) Truong Van Cam at a press briefing on the 2021 summary conference for the textile-garment industry on December 7.
According to Cam, despite many difficulties throughout 2021, the industry's production and business results are still quite positive. The textile - garment industry is expected to thrive and earn 40 billion USD in exports over the next year, when the COVID-19 pandemic is forecasted to ease within Vietnam as well as the rest of the world.
At the press briefing, the representative from the VITAS also spoke regarding the 2021 Summary Conference of the sector to be held on December 17, 2021, in both online form and face to face in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
The event aims to recognize and evaluate the activities of the industry and the association over the 2021 period, pointing out the necessary work and solutions that member businesses and associations need to focus on implementing in the development strategy of the industry for the 2020 - 2025 period, with a vision towards 2030.

Other focuses to be discussed include climate change in the fashion industry, sustainable trade, green transformation of textile dyeing, world textile markets and consumption trends in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic.
