On July 28, 2020, Malaysia's Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) initiated an anti-dumping investigation against some polyethylene Terephthalate products (known as PET, PETE or PETP or PET-P) made in Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea and the United States.

I. Relevant information:

1. Initiated date: July 28, 2020

2. Scope of investigation: Polyethylene Terephthalate, viscosity of 0.7 deciliter/gram (dl/g) or more, is classified according to HS and AHTN code: 3907.61.00.00, 3907.69.10.00, 3907.69.90.00.

Temporary tax rates are applied from 0% to 57.75% for exporting enterprises of Vietnam, China, Indonesia and Korea.

6. Final conclusion:

MITI concluded that imports of locks from Vietnam, China, Indonesia and South Korea did not cause significant injury to Malaysia's similar goods industry.
