Copper tube - Australia investigates anti-dumping measures

On 22 March 2021, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) initiated the anti-dumping investigation on copper tube originating in Vietnam.
 
I. Relevant information:
 
1. Initiated date: March 22, 2021

2. Petitioner: Metal Manufacturers Ltd. (MM Kembla).
 
3. Goods under investigation: Round seamless copper tube complying with Australian Standard AS 1432, Australian and New Zealand Standard AS/NZ 1571, or Australian Standard AS 1572 with an outside nominal diameter between 9.52 mm and 53.98 mm, and a nominal wall thickness between 0.71 mm and 1.83 mm, including coated tube. HS code: 7411.10.00
 
4. Investigation period: 01/01/2020 to 31/12/2020.

 

5. Case progress:

 

- On October 29, 2021, the Australian Anti-Corruption Commission (ADC) announced the Report of Preliminary Investigation Conclusions, according to which Vietnamese exports were not dumped, and proposed to terminate the anti-dumping investigation with Vietnamese copper pipes.


- On March 4, 2022, the Australian Anti-Corruption Commission (ADC) issued a notice to terminate the anti-dumping investigation (however, this decision is being reviewed by the Australian Anti-Corruption Review Council (ADRP).

 

- On July 4, 2022, the Australian Anti-Corruption Review Council (ADRP) issued a notice to revoke ADC's decision to terminate the investigation and continue the case. Stakeholders may submit an application to request a review of this ADRP decision within 28 days from July 4, 2022.

 

- On September 1, 2023, The Australian Anti-dumping Committee (ADC) issued key facts and recommended ending the anti-dumping investigation
