Secretariat of the Ukrainian President V. Yuschenko imputes to the European Commission infringement of the Ukrainian producers’ interests and informed that Ukraine, that joined the WTO in May, is ready to introduce trade restrictions in response against some countries of the Union, “Reuters” reported.

According to A. Goncharuk, the Deputy Head of Secretariat, the Eurocommission do not recognize a market principle of the gas pricing for the Ukrainian enterprises, considering its cost as considerably underestimated compared to the European one. “This becomes the reason for unreasonably high dumping duties in many antidumping investigations”, - Goncharuk told.

According to the data of the Ministry of Economics, currently, the EU restricts import of seven groups of the Ukrainian products. Goncharuk considers that refuse of the EU from reassess of their position infringes regulations of the European antidumping rules and Antidumping agreement of the WTO. According to Goncharuk, after Ukrainian joining the WTO, Kiev entered the work group on accepting of Russia into the organization, however Ukraine has not put in claims to Moscow yet. The Deputy Head of Secretariat said that there is a range of problems in trading relations with the neighboring country that Kiev may raise during meetings of the work group.

“Restrictions for import of agricultural products, separate trade defending measures regarding metallurgical, chemical produce are among these issues. In case if these measures will not meet the requirements of the WTO, it will be expedient to regulate these questions during negotiation process about the Russian Federation joining the WTO”,- Goncharuk noted.
