Ukraine and Belarus will create a working group to eliminate existing antidumping restrictions, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said.

"We with Alexander Grigoryevich [Lukashenko] agreed to instruct the government to urgently set up a working group to eliminate all antidumping restrictions. Remove any obstacles to mutual trade," he said at the opening of the Forum of Regions of Ukraine and Belarus in Gomel (Belarus).

"I foresee that this group will be created in the near future," he stressed.

According to Poroshenko, Belarus is the fifth trading partner for Ukraine, trade turnover between the countries this year amounted to $4.5-4.6 billion. At the same time, he expressed hope that by the end of the year this figure would reach $5.3 billion, and next year no less than $7 billion.

According to the Ukrainian president, the countries could double trade turnover.

"We could easily double our trade turnover: the figure of $10 billion is quite real. To a large extent this would be favored by the resumption of exports of Ukrainian metal products to Belarus, as well as the lifting of restrictions on trade in agricultural products and timber," he said.
