Quicklime - Australia investigates anti-dumping measures

In April 2016, the Anti-Dumping Commission of Australia issued Anti-Dumping Notice No. 2016/40 initiating an ant-dumping investigation against quicklime exported from Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

This is the 3rd anti-dumping investigations against goods imported into Australia from Vietnam. Previous investigated goods include power transformers and zinc coated steel.


I. Relevant information:

1. Initiated date: April 18, 2016

2. Investigated Good: Quicklime under the HS Code: 2522.10.00. These goods are duty free

3. Investigation period: The investigation period is January 1st to December 31st 2016. However, the Commission informed to examine details of the Australian market from January 1st 2012 for injury analysis purposes.

4. Petitioner: Cockburn Cement Limited

5. Dumping Margin in Premilinary Assessment for Vietnam (Binh Son Investment and Mineral Company Limited): 30.5%

6. Terminated date: November 24, 2016

7. Conclusion: Anti-dumping duty is not applied because exported goods in the investigation caused no injury or negligible injury to the Australian industry.
