Indonesia sets a center for promoting fruits exporting to EU

Indonesia has just established Fruit Export Development Center (FEDC) in order to boost exporting fruits to EU. At the conference “EU- a potential market needs maintaining”, Ms. Junni Saraswati, operating director of Germany- Indonesia Trade Association, reveals this is a part of the EU’ s support in order to encourage trade balance between Indonesia and EU membership nations.
EU, including 27 countries, is a very potential market for agricultural products of Indonesia. FEDC will have to supply Indonesian fruit exporters with information of EU’s Agricultural product market.
According to the 2005’s statistics, 50% of the world’s exported fruits (estimated 14.5 million tons) is to EU market.
Ms Saraswati says Europeans, at the moment about 495 million people, always follow the certificates on label and ecology labeling.
She also reveals that demands for fruit and fresh vegetable of EU are increasing more and more.
