On February 28, 2014, the Ministry of Finance of India notified the initiation of a safeguard investigation on Bare Elastomeric Filament Yarn according to notification number D-22011/23/2013.

Relevant Information:

1.Initiation date: On February 28, 2014

2. Goods under investigation: Bare Elastomeric Filament Yarn was used to make jeans, sportswear, T-shirts, socks and other apparel products – HS Code: 54024400 và 54041100 

3. Petitioner: IndoramaIndustries - the only manufacturer under investigation in India.

4. “Damage determination” period: financial year of 2012 - to December 2013 (financial year of India starts from April 1 every year).

According to the announcement of the initiation of the investigation, Bare Elastomeric Filament Yarn was imported into the Indian market from a number of countries/regions, mainly from Vietnam, Korea, China, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.

On September 29, 2014, the lawsuit ended due to no damage.
