Firms request anti-dumping probe into imported fibreboards

Four Vietnamese companies have sent a dossier to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) to ask for an anti-dumping investigation into medium density fibreboard products from Thailand and Malaysia.
The TRAV, an agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said it is verifying the dossier so that it can be submitted to the minister for consideration as to whether an investigation should be launched.
Accordingly, the authority is verifying these firms’ representativeness of the domestic production sector. It is also substantiating the submitted evidence on the considerable damage that the imported dumping has caused, or threatened to cause, to the domestic production sector, or otherwise considerably hampered the formation of the domestic production sector.
The TRAV is also calling on other domestic manufacturers of similar products to provide relevant information and give their opinions on the issue.
