The European Commission has finished the antidumping investigation into imports of ferrosilicium from Ukraine and Egypt under foreign activity codes 7202 21 00, 7202 29 10 and 7202 29 90 without imposing duties.

"Recently the Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers #ukrfa in response to its application to the European Commission received the confirmation of information that in the near term the Official Journal of the European Union would publish a report on the termination of the antidumping investigation into imports of ferrosilicium to the EU from Ukraine and Egypt. The result was achieved thanks to joint work of the association, Ukrainian producers #nzf, #zfz [Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant and Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Plant] with active participation and support of Natalia Mykolska [Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Ukraine's Trade Representative], the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine with the help of #ilyashev&partners [Ilyashev & Partners international law firm]," Executive Director of the Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers Serhiy Kudriavtsev wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

In turn, Director for Business Development and PR at Ilyashev & Partners Kateryna Andreyeva wrote in the social network that in the past 10 years this is the first antidumping investigation of the European Commission, which ended without the application of duties on imports of goods from Ukraine.

"The project was very complicated. I congratulate the mega team of Ilyashev & Partners, who worked double tides, and of course, Head of International Trade Practice Olena Omelchenko," Andreyeva wrote.

As reported, the European Association of ferroalloy producers (Euroalliages), presenting the interests of largest European ferrosilicium producers, including Ferropem, Ferroatlantica, OFZ and Huta Laziska, which produce more than 90% of ferrosilicon in the European Union, on June 19, 2017 filed a complaint to the European Commission regarding dumping imports of ferrosilicium from Ukraine and Egypt. The antidumping investigation was launched. The period of investigation is from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.
