(Yicai Global) July 16 -- China’s commerce ministry has imposed temporary anti-dumping measures on South Korean and Japanese nitrile rubber, a component commonly used in the automotive and aeronautical fields and to make laboratory gloves.

The Ministry of Commerce began a probe in November and preliminarily ruled today that the products were being dumped and caused material injury the domestic industry, it said in a statement. The investigation is scheduled to conclude in November.

Beginning today, importers of nitrile rubber from the two countries will need to pay deposits to Chinese customs. Buyers importing from South Korea will pay 37.3 percent, with set rates of 12 percent for Kumho Petrochemical and 15 percent for LG Chem. Those purchasing from Japan will pay 56.4 percent, with special rates of 30 percent for Zeon and 18.1 percent for JSR.
